Being an Ass-hole

It’s a real talent, I tell you. You just can’t go around, make fun of people, prove that you are smarter than them and try to sound witty with every statement you make, It comes with a price. Eventually, people will loath you for what you are. You may sometimes behave as a good guy when you are alone with someone, but no one likes to be embarrassed and made fun of in public, and this smart-ass nature of yours is the best recipe for creating enemies. Stop it! If there are dumb people around you, its okay; world is incomplete without them. That doesn’t mean that you will prove it publicly. Accept it and live with it. You can always gossip and crib about their dumbness when you are having coffee with a similar smart-ass friend of yours.

“ Abe, wo XYZ hai..na bahut bada chu*** hai wo” . A common dialogue eh? While chatting, having dinner or whatever, we always have this one person or a group of people, whom we just sign off to be a “chu***” . Mr.  Canny one! Wake up; you’re also one of them, just being referred in some other way in some other room. Also if you think about it in a much deep and philosophical way, you being discussing about the dumb guy in your private time, is nothing but their unique success. You escalate them to newer heights by discussing their dumbness, if you think that you are the intelligent one, then please go and get a life where you can have free time to discuss about yourself. It will be much helpful.

Anyways, stupidity percolates to everyone, you just can’t help it. Haters are going to hate, and dumb ones are going to remain dumb, Can you do anything about it?? If you think yes you can, then sure go ahead you have found a purpose to your life (an amazing feat indeed) but for the others, please stop! You are beautiful, gifted human, young and still capable of doing amazing things. Don’t waste time, work on your dreams. Go ahead be a smart one, just don’t make ass out of it.

As an author, who is preaching some lessons, I have a confession to make. I think some of the above mentioned qualities completely describe me. It’s not like I want everyone to change, but it’s a subtle realization on my part. I apologize to all for being an ass, many a times I have said things which pissed off everyone and I really feel bad about it. I can’t promise to be a different person, but yes I will try to practice what I preach.

Sitting alone in my small dormitory room i ponder upon the awesomeness of the time i had few months ago!. MESMERIZING is what comes into mind, to define the experience i had in those days! the days when i had work but worked like i never have to complete it,the days when i used to party as if i was living my last breath,and the days where weekends meant getting drunk and party all night,the days when we used to meet a new guy every week and the days which always seemed to be flying. i suppose this is not just my experience but it defines what we "the iaeste Thailand interns 2009" experienced through out our stay in Thailand. “Let me return to my home town entombed in grass as in a warm and high sea” – Giorgio Bassani. My home neither has a warm grass cover nor is blessed by the high sea. It lies in the dusty heartland of Chhattisgarh. It’s a featureless land, with no tourist attraction, no mountain but yes, a geographically insignificant river does flow (as in you won’t find it in geography books). If you were to come with me thinking that I would show you some majestic waterfall or a park or garden, you are mistaken. I would end up taking you to nearby market area with lot of eateries. But nevertheless, it’s my home; it’s where I get to chat with my mom over a hot cup of tea. It’s where I cherish “elderly” conversations with my papa when he returns home from office, and it’s the place where I get to see the old family albums.
